Since its origin, Casa Santo Domingo was the stronghold of one of the most grand convents of America: the one that sheltered the followers of the order of Santo Domingo de Guzmán.
Casa Santo Domingo is an important part of the beautiful colonial reliquary, that preserves the treasures from the baroque period of ancestral America. Each corner of the house, each stone, image and piece that compose this unique whole of works becomes a lost page in time, one by one all elements are joined together, forming a beautiful chapter in the grand book of our history.
Casa Santo Domingo opened it’s doors in June 1989. It is located 45 kms away from Guatemala city (50 minutes driving) and barely 10 minutes walking distance from central park in Antigua Guatemala.

In the Bar “El Cabildo” we offer a comfortable retreat so that you can enjoy your favorite drinks and appetizers. It is an appropriate place for private conversations among friends, business companions or for a romantic rendezvous. Open from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m.

We have 125 rooms with a variety of qualities and spaces. Each one has a private bathroom, mini-bar, chimney (most of them), T.V., cable, telephone, hair dryer and safety deposit box. The following services are available for our guests every day: medical services, shoe shine, laundry, postal service, newspapers in specific areas, baggage storage, lost objects, ice, wake-up calls, voice mail and taxis. (please note: some of these services are not included on the regular rates)
